Kia ora, cobbers – and welcome back!

After last year’s ripper bash, the Down Under Fest is back for 2025 – and this time, we’re turning up the Kiwi vibes! From Aotearoa to the outback, it’s a trans-Tasman takeover at Munich’s Rindermarkt, proudly brought to you by the Munich Kangaroos and Munich Sessions.

We’ve got live tunes, top tucker, cold drinks, cracking dance acts, sport demos, and more laid-back good times than you can shake a sausage sizzle at. Whether you’re from the bush, the bay, or just curious about the Down Under spirit, you’ll feel right at home.

So grab your mates, dust off your jandals, and join us for a weekend full of heart, harmony and heaps of fun.

A big shoutout to our sponsors including Travel Essence, Ned Kelly’s Bar, Munich Kangaroos, Munich Sessions and Guinness, cos nothing says Downunder like … wait, Guinness? Sure, it’s not your typical Aussie drop, but we reckon even a pint of the black stuff goes down a treat when you’re dancing in your togs in the Rindermarkt fountain.

Chur bro – see you there!

The Downunder Birds

In some alternate universe, they go by The Thunderbirds and are known as one of Munich’s favorite cover bands – lighting up stages and even the telly with their high-voltage performances. From pub rock anthems to global legends like Dire Straits, Clapton, The Beatles, the Stones, The Eagles and beyond – you’re in for a wild ride with the Downunder Birds.

Get ready for a set that’s all meat, no filler. You’ll be dancin’, singin’ – maybe even chuckin’ a shoey (no promises).

The Prowlers

From rock and blues to pop bangers and a bit of country twang, The Prowlers serve up more variety than a servo snack aisle. With a lineup as mixed as a Bunnings sausage sizzle, they belt out everything from Aussie pub classics to Brit rock anthems – no genre is safe. Led by the ever-charismatic Aussie frontman Jackson, this crew of Munich legends has been getting crowds movin’ and groovin’ at our Down Under do’s since way back.

They’re the real deal – don’t miss ’em!

Paul Daly Band

Paul Daly might not hail from Down Under (though he has been once, so fair go), but he and his top-notch band know their way around a classic Aussie tune like they were born singin’ it.

From Eric Bogle ballads to bonafide bangers, these legends serve up some of the best covers this side of the equator. Huge thanks for frontin’ up once again, Paul and crew – we’re stoked to have you back!

Catch ’em Sundee arvo for a proper singalong.

Wolfi

a.k.a. Daniel Arthur, is a proud Huntly muso from the mighty Waikato who’ll yarn all day about the beauty of Aotearoa (Land of the Long White Cloud) and why rugby, league and cricket beats every other sporting code hands down.

These days, he’s based in Heidelberg, where he’s been belting out tunes to packed pubs with that smooth-as Kiwi charm. At the Fest, he’ll be lighting up the stage across the weekend – and giving us an intro to Māori culture along the way. If you’re lucky, you might catch him singing Ten Guitars – a true crowd-pleaser on the other side of the ditch.

He's stoked to be part of the Fest.

Lucy Gallant

Oi! Guess who's back? We’re stoked to announce that the wildly talented – and just a little bit devious – Aussie firecracker Lucy Gallant is hittin’ the stage again at Down Under Fest Munich! She must’ve had a ripper of a time last year, 'cause she’s pulling a massive detour just to be here. What a legend.

Welcome back, Lucy!

The Waltzing Matildas

Awesome news! The Waltzing Matildas, Europe's top Aussie Bush Dancing troupe, will be strutting their stuff at the Downunder Fest. We can confidently call them the best because, well, they're the only ones we know of in Europe!

You might be wondering, "What the heck is Australian bush dancing?" This dance style has roots in Europe, brought Downunder by settlers, and soon took the whole country by storm, right into the deepest outback. It's designed so you can do the simple, energetic steps with a drink in one hand and your partner in the other.

Oh, and did we mention the Nutbush?

Back by Popular Demand – The Jolly Heap!

Munich’s own rock legends The Jolly Heap are tuning up for another ripper set at this year’s Downunder Fest. This local band might be German-born, but they’ve got Aussie spirit running through their amps — and a playlist to prove it.

Expect a high-voltage mix of global rock icons and dancefloor bangers, including:

U2, Lenny Kravitz, Guns N' Roses, P!nk, Kings of Leon, Adele, The Darkness, The Killers, Bon Jovi, Green Day ... and heaps more!

They’ll have you moving like you’re at a Sunday sesh in Sydney or a rooftop gig in Wellington. So grab a cold one, kick off your jandals, and rock out with us — Downunder-style!

Jessie Graham

Straight outta Aotearoa and bringing the mana to Downunder Fest!

Hailing from New Zealand, Jessie studied music at Victoria University in Wellington and Auckland University. These days, she calls Laufen home — just a stone’s throw from Austria — and sings professionally in Salzburg, both in the opera chorus and as a soloist.

Jessie will be kicking off the Fest in style, belting out the New Zealand national anthem and a few more tunes to get the good vibes rolling. From concert halls to Kiwi classics — she’s got the pipes and the presence to make it magic.

Get ready to move, Yudid's in the house!

From Stevie Wonder to Daft Punk, Motown to modern-day bangers, Yudid is on a mission: to get your feet tappin’, hips swingin’, and butts off seats.

They mash up the classics with fresh hits, serving up a sound that'll have the whole crowd vibin’. Forget the daily grind—this is your Friday night soundtrack.

Bring your mates and your best dance moves. You will boogie. Guaranteed.

Disbanded

The band previously known as the Banjo Patersons is back again at the Downunder Fest. From rollicking tunes from the Carter Family, Kraftwerk and Iggy Pop to the twangy sounds of Slim Dusty and possibly The Wiggles, they'll bring their energy and love for music to the stage. Don't miss out on this epic performance of live music and good vibes. See you there!

Harmony Threesome

Get ready for lush three-part harmonies, big energy and a whole lotta feel-good vibes! This trio of top-notch international musos, backed by a full band, is set to blow the roof off Downunder Fest with their killer renditions of all your favorites — from Bruno Mars to the Eagles, Toto and stacks more.

Think smooth vocals, tight grooves, and tunes that’ll have you singing along like you’re at a backyard party in Byron Bay or Queenstown. Harmony Threesome bring the hits, the heart, and the harmonies – all you need to do is bring your dancing flip-flops.

The Funeral Band

Don’t let the name fool you – The Funeral Band may sound somber, but their sound is anything but. With banjo, guitar, and a whole lot of heart, they bring a warm, uplifting spin to a handpicked blend of pop, rock, and singer-songwriter classics.

Their setlist is stacked with legends: Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, George Harrison, Pink Floyd, Oasis, Sting, Lou Reed, and ol’ Blue Eyes himself – Frank Sinatra. And rumor has it there’s a few Aussie gems waiting in the wings. Maybe a bit of Frank Ifield yodeling, a nod to the Hawking Brothers, or a deep cut from “The Black Elvis” Roger Knox –if we’re lucky!

Heartfelt, unpretentious, and distinctly down-to-earth.
